Who gets to keep the Hamptons?

Who inherits the Hamptons? ‘they found the artist and his wife not South of Highway 27 ….but in a ramshackle farmhouse a few miles north of the town in a place called Springs- population then (1949) 360 – a section literally and figuratively on the other side of the railroad tracks, or ‘below the bridge’ as the townsfolk would say. Springs was backwoods of town, deep country undisturbed fields, thick woods, gorgeous ponds with green saltwater meadows. It was a closed community culturally as well as socially isolated from East Hampton, with bloodlines so intertwined that natives even had their own derisive nickname, Bonackers, East Hampton’s equivalent of the hillbillies. In present day East Hampton they are simply known as ‘Bubs’. Bonackers are mostly descendants fo Lion Gardiner’s less well to do employees, the Bennets and Kings and lesters, who unlike Goody Garlick and her husband couldn’t afford to build houses in town when they moved to the mainland 400 years ago. They wound up in a patch of rich land about three miles square between Accabonac Creek and Louse Point. Fifteen generations of Bonackers have lived on this land, untouched by good fortune and the spoils of the Summer Colony. The subsisted as dirt poor small time farmers and fishermen. The most financially productive Springs had ever been was during the Prohibition, when the nooks and crannies of it’s water front made it a favorite destination for rumrunners. It had one saloon, Jungle Pete’s and one grocery, Springs General Store. It didn’t even have a fire department until 1965; when one newcomer asked what to do in case of a fire, the Bubs solution was ‘Don’t have a fire’. You can tell True Bonackers in East Hampton because of their distinctive Bonac dialect, an accent of English and speech patterns whose roots can be traced back to Dorset, England. It’s extravagated Yankee twang, such as saying ‘yit’ for ‘yet’ and repeating words twice, twice; ‘Yes yes’ (I’ve got that-Ed) or adding syllables, like ‘hayat’ for ‘hat’. Bonackers were apt not to be ‘long in themouth’ with summer strangers, whose presence sometimes turned their little neck of the woods ‘catty wumper’ instead of ‘finest kind’, the way they liked things. Strangers were ‘from away’ ….they appeared for a season or two and then faded away from memory.’ P118-119 Philistines in the Hedgerow S Gaines Hodder New York 1998. Sure when it comes to a comprehensive overview of South Hampton, West Hampton, North Hampton or East Hampton- The Hamptons of Long Island New York anthropologically and even historically the most fascinating enduring and endearing of all are the True Bonackers. Regardless of engineered fashion and land values –Land lust of Homosexuals; Jews; Business people- or in the case of the father of all that Alan Schneider- Jewish Homosexual Real Estate Agent… And yes inspite of Mossad trying to protect Spielberg or the over the top antics of Perlman at the Kosher- The Creeks… In the end the approaching Holocaust – And yes history is full of them and for New York Jews No Exception Will Be Made- Enduring in the Hamptons are and will be forever –True Bonackers! How do I know this? Well actually The Eternal Jew told me- The King of the Jews- or at least he died for being that! He said ‘The meek Bonackers shall inherit The Hamptons’- and I guess we can include in that some Long Island Indians as well getting their land back. Look the amazing thing about this is that people will survive- get given all the wealth of this place merely because of their distinctive speech! About 20 years ago PBS or it could have been BBC did a program on American English and found that in these communities 400 year old English is frozen in time- Word selection, dialect, thought patterns unaffected by the culture around them. Therefore no matter what happens in this Very End of Empire State - The meek inherit (And on that my Editor has just asked me about our Senior Pastor Peter of City Impact Church with the big black Chevy with number plate ‘1 PM 1’) So while dumb Jews and other fellow travelers either go into Holocaust or take the Hebrew Bible seriously and return to the Promised Land- And the deserving rich get slaughtered and some because of what has happened in USA get selected to be slaves…. True Bonackers get the Hamptons! Good Eh! And finally- my Editor says now I’m just raving- Well out of my depth in Bronze Age Pictorial Hebrew the three letters Sh, L, M have one meaning in the Hebrew Prophets- Payback!
